Metaphors for a Black Future Zine

White text on dark background with planets and fern shapes. Text reads: Metaphors for a Black Future Zine: Edited by Martha Adonai Williams

We are delighted to publish the first “Metaphors for a Black Future Zine” edited by Martha Adonai Williams. This zine is an outcome of our 2020 Metaphors for a Black Future Programme, also curated by Martha, which ran from October 2020 to December 2020.

Details of our 2021 MBF programme will be released this summer. The Scottish BAME Writers Network are so grateful to Martha for bringing this programming strand to us, along with her passion, vision, networks, and ability to create spaces that felt safe, generative, relaxed and explorative. MBF has greatly enriched our specific offering to Black writers.

We are also incredibly proud to host the monthly Scottish Black Writers Group, chaired by our Co-director Dean Atta. This takes place online on the third Thursday of every month at 7-9pm. If you are a Black writer, we would love to see you there!
