Calling all emerging writers and critics!
We’re partnering with Books from Scotland to commission SBWN members emerging writers to contribute pieces on Scottish books for their website. This is a rolling opportunity, so they may work with some writers on a recurring basis and/or keep changing depending on who has signed up and their schedules.
You’ll work directly with an editor to discuss what books and authors you’d like to feature.
Commission details
- Each commissioned writer will receive the fee of £200 (a month for one piece each month).
- Finished pieces should be between 700 – 1200 words.
- These pieces can be reviews, interviews or other features.
- You’ll contribute a stand-alone feature or a piece for the quarterly issue.
- Note: They do not publish negative reviews.
