Scottish BPOC Writers Network stands in solidarity with Palestine and the people of Gaza and condemns the genocidal violence led by apartheid state Israel. This is a community space to come together and share Palestinian art, take collective action, and find support during this devastating time. Read our full statement here.
Our Online Solidarity Space and Virtual Tour will take place online on 21st November from 6pm – 7pm.
Register for free here.
In this solidarity space, Tina Fiske from Cample Line will take us on a virtual tour of Palestinian artist Jumana Emil Abboud’s current exhibition titled The Unbearable Halfness of Being.
While viewing the exhibition is the primary activity for the event, please join us as we also share resources and ideas, hold space for collective grief, and combat hopelessness by gathering with others and discussing collective action.
At SBWN, we believe our continued resistance requires us to show care, solidarity, love, and resilience. We will disseminate an updated resource pack that contains information on sit ins, protests, and strikes, as well as template letters, BDS updates and more.
We will provide a space to collaborate and share any ideas you have for action and resistance to collectively inform further steps we can take as a community. However, there is no pressure to bring ideas or resources. Please come as you are.
This is open to everyone based in Scotland who stands in solidarity with Palestine, including BPOC and our white allies. We will prioritise BPOC voices, but we welcome everyone in Scotland or with ties to Scotland who supports #FreePalestine.
By attending the space you opt to abide by our safer space policy, please access it here.
We provide (child)care, data bursaries upon request, please email us! Live captioning via otter.ai will be available at the event.
