Join us for our Asian Writers Group on Wednesday 6 July at 7pm-9:00pm.
Please be mindful when booking. This is a group for Asian writers based in Scotland (or who, pre-COVID, would have normally been resident in Scotland).
For writers of East Asian, Southeast Asian, South Asian, West Asian, and/or mixed heritage
Following our June hiatus, our Asian Writers Group returns on 6 July for a session of live writing and sharing, led by guest facilitator Alycia Pirmohamed. Starting with a short writing prompt to get the creative spark going, we’ll share our work – either what we’ve written in the session or a previously created piece, so feel free to bring your work along!
Alycia is an international multi-award winning poet, co-founder of and advisor to the Scottish BPOC Writers Network, and co-organiser of Ledbury Poetry Critics, among numerous other credentials. Her first full-length collection, Another Way to Split Water, comes out from Polygon Books this autumn. This is a great chance to get input on your work from one of Scotland’s eminent poets of colour.
If you’d like to share a piece in a non-written format (e.g. video or audio), you can either email us the link beforehand at scottishbpocwriters@gmail.com or share it in our Zoom chat on the day. Please note that sharing is totally optional, so no pressure if you prefer to listen and respond to what other group members wish to share!
