Scottish Black Writers Group – 21 July 2022

This month, share your work in progress

Scottish Black Writers Group in July will be facilitated by Jeda Pearl. It is a monthly event open to writers across the UK and Ireland who are Black/from the African diaspora, including people of mixed heritage.

Scottish Black Writers Group is a space to meet, chat, network and talk about the writing life – writers both published and unpublished are welcome to join us.

Share your work in progress!

Bring you latest work in progress and share with us!

Whether finished, half written, just an idea or something you would like to dust off and refurbish – of any genre – bring it along to July’s Scottish Black Writers Group, to get a kick of energy and a new feel for your piece as you are sharing it with your Scottish Black Writer friends!

There will be a prompt or two to get writing during the session as well, especially if you feel like sharing something very fresh, but most of the session will be reserved to sharing and providing feedback!

Please email scottishbpocwriters@gmail.com with the subject SBWG Sharing no later then July 8th, if you would like to circulate up to 1 page of written work in advance for the group to provide feedback on.

You can share any work you have or, if you need a writing prompt… Moko Somõkõw is an artist from Trinidad and Tobago who makes incredible, storied traditional Mas costumes – pick an image from his timeline to free-write to: https://www.instagram.com/mokosomokow/

Can’t wait to see you there!
