Scottish BPOC Writers Network (SBWN) is an advocacy and professional development group for Scottish and Scotland-based writers and literary professionals who identify as BPOC (Black people, People of Colour).*
Are you a literary, creative and arts organisation or other group that would like to work with us?
We’d love to partner with you on our current and future initiatives.
When you partner with us, you are helping to contribute to our mission to facilitate opportunities for Scottish BPOC writers and necessary activities to action inclusive programming in an effort to address and overcome systemic barriers.
Why partner with us
Increasing access
By contributing to more opportunities to our network, you help make sure that writing and creativity is more accessible to BPOC writers who are underrepresented within this sector so they can have thriving and sustainable writing careers.
Supporting a grassroots organisation
By contributing, in-kind or paid partnerships, you help us reduce operational costs and direct that money instead towards writers to support the creative economy in a tangible and impactful way.
Featured content
Gain access to sponsoring curated content including reading lists, co-branded “book of the month” series and more.
How to partner with us
Sustain a project
Make a paid contribution towards one of our longer-term projects so we can become less reliant on project grants and save those funds for smaller organisations who may have more urgent need of those resources.
Support Digital Projects
Contribute funds, tech tools and/or mentorship towards our digital projects such as online membership, digital showcase and archive and more, helping us provide greater and global access. You can also provide livestreaming access, tech and tools and support hybrid programming.
Fund time to write or specific writing projects
Sponsor a literary residency for writers who are struggling to manage associated costs such as fees, accommodation and or travel. Or support an individual project – funds could go towards childcare, unpaid time off, etc.
Sponsor a festival or individual events
Support a workshop, festival or other event hosted by SBWN. This could involve providing a venue in-kind, lending hybrid tech, a monetary contribution, or providing funds for additional access bursaries.
Please note: We’ll be launching our sponsorship package soon.
Contribute to our writer emergency fund
We are aiming to build an emergency fund to support writers for family or health emergencies, unexpected costs etc. Contributing regularly would keep this fund topped up and remain accessible to those in need.
Co-produce an event or project
Work together on a project, or ask SBWN to curate a programme or event (priority to BPOC-led, grassroots and community non-profit organisations and collectives).
Give access to events
Host a ticket giveaway or provide a set of tickets/passes we can provide to members so they access necessary literary programming that they would not be able to access otherwise.
Donate funds
Coming soon: Contribute a recurring or one-time donation so we can boost our access bursaries or other initiatives.
Donate your time
Host a Q&A, mentor or train our team. Volunteer at our events.
