For Black writers & writers of colour based in the UK and Ireland. 16 November, 13:00pm-14:00pm. Online.

Join us on 16th November for this workshop exploring liberation through climate!

This is a rescheduled event originally part of World Con.

All SBWN events will adhere to our Safer Spaces Policy. You can learn more about our policy here.

Please be mindful when booking. This is a session for Black writers & writers of colour* based in Scotland.

Join a one-hour online workshop hosted by Lorraine Wilson. Through discussion and writing prompts, we’ll explore how the climate emergency challenges us to resist the forces that harm nature, how nature itself is resisting this harm, and how it can be a lens for speculative futures and a tool of liberation.

The workshop is open to all Black writers and writers of colour in Scotland, the UK, and Ireland. All experience levels welcome, including those trying out creative writing for the first time!

For participants on low incomes, we have some bursaries for data (£8) and caregiver/childcare (£30) for online events available – please email us at scottishbpocwriters@gmail.com if you will need a bursary to attend, and we’ll do our best to help.

Tickets are Pay What You Can (suggested £10), bookable through Ticket Tailor. We look forward to seeing you there!

Our events are very popular and have a waitlist. If you have registered for a ticket but then are unable to attend please do let us know so we can offer it to another person on the waitlist. Thank you!
