What is Discord?
Discord is an app where communities can gather online and chat via text forums (aka channels), voice and/or video channels. These spaces are hosted on private or public servers. We have created a private server for SBWN community members.
The app can be downloaded and used on desktop computers, laptops and mobile devices including phones. You can also login to Discord via your internet browser.
Discord is our dedicated online community space for SBWN members.
How do I use Discord?
Don’t worry! If you’re completely new to Discord, we have signposted and created resources to help you find your way and join in.
Our Discord is set up to facilitate:
- Genre-based Peer Groups
- More opportunities to write together
- Motivation, writing sprints, prompts and supporting each other
- More autonomous spaces, self-organising, and collaboration
- Informal networking and communicating between members
- A space that can evolve over time
